More Information: Gol Gohar Mining Zone is one of the most prominent industrial mines in the Middle East, which has many capabilities to become a large and competitive region in Iran and even the world. These mineral deposits are located in Kerman province and 50 km southwest of Sirjan city. Existing works and excavations at the site of the “Ore deposit” indicate that this deposit has been identified and exploited in the past century. The approximate age of an old slag from Geghayr ore has been estimated to be around 900 years. In the contemporary period, the exploration and prospecting of the Gol Gohar iron ore project was started by Iran Private Limited Company in 1348 and then, with the cooperation of the Japanese company “Marubani”, was transferred to the National Steel Company of Iran in 1353. Gol Gohar iron ore deposit is located in 6 separate anomalies with a reserve of about 1200 million tons in a range of approximately 10 kilometers and a width of approximately 4 kilometers. The exploitation of mineral aggregate No. 1 belongs to Gol Gohar Mining and Industrial Co., a large part of it has been extracted
The use of anomaly No. 3 as the largest anomaly with an inventory of over 643 million tons has been assigned to Iron Ore Ghehr Land Company. The oldest mass exploited from Gol Gohar is Mass No. 1, during extensive exploratory studies and mineral design and preparation, this mass is extracted due to more preliminary discoveries and proximity of mineral to the surface of the earth
The overall shape of the Gohrazamin Iron Ore is a flocculant slab with two northern and southern ends near the earth’s surface and its central part at a greater depth. The total geological storage of No. 3 Gohrzamin mine has been estimated at 640 million tons based on the latest exploration. So far, 470 million tons of mining operations have been carried out, which resulted in the extraction of 51 million tons of iron ore and a record date in mining operations by extraction of 18 million tons of iron ore in 1396
